Award-winning exhibition – A tribute to the great David Austin

Sandra Trethewey of Farmgirl Flowers, as Head Designer and Convenor, created the theme for the tribute to David Austin for the Midlands Rose Society at the renowned Garden Show held at the Royal Show Grounds annually in Pietermaritzburg.

David Austin was a teenager in the 1940s when he became fascinated with roses. Soon after, his passion became his life when he released his first rose, ‘Constance Spry’, in 1961.

Since then, he has released over 200 new roses, creating an unrivalled collection and legacy in the flower industry.

The Midlands Rose Society stand was awarded 97% at this year’s Garden show.
